Today's game
6 Feb 2022 by Richard Mulligan
Well done this morning, all. We got a 1-0 win in our final league game of the season against Strensall, with Seamus grabbing the all-important goal from a free-kick just before half-time.
Firstly, thanks as always to Billy for refereeing in what became a fiery game. We thought they were putting in niggly fouls from the start and there was apparently a lot of winding up going on, and our lads responded. There were some bad challenges from both sides in the 2nd half, which we discussed after the game. The lads are getting older and I guess games will be more physical, and we thought their coaches and players started making a bigger deal than they needed to. Tymek made a good point after the game that we played much better when we were calmer.
Chances were few and far between, but we probably did just enough to deserve the win.
Well done to Harry and defenders Arthur R, Dexter, Olly and Tymek for the clean sheet. We’ve conceded just 2 goals in our last 4 games.
Elliot was captain today and picked Seamus as MOTM for his dribbling and passing.
Well done everyone and enjoy your Sunday!
