Today's game

30 Jan 2022 by Richard Mulligan

Brilliant morning for our team with a 3-1 win against Thorpe in what was a real six-pointer.

It was a tough game with lots of ups and downs – sometimes we were on top, sometimes we seemed up against it. We were pleased that our players continued to try to pass and play good football even in such a tense game. Their workrate was impressive too.

After a goalless first half, the game changed with Elliot’s brilliant run down the left wing and cross, and there was Olly B in the right place at the right time to put us a goal up.

We conceded a scrappy equaliser, but then Seamus smashed home a beauty to put us back ahead. Then an own goal under pressure from Austin completed our win.

Danesh was captain today and he picked Elliot as man of the match — we were really pleased with both our goalies today, with Oliver W wearing the gloves in the second half.

Well done to all the guys – a real team effort!

That win should put us up to second in the table, with just one league game to go for us. As recently mentioned, we have loads of friendlies being lined up for the coming weeks — lots of football for everyone!
